How long has NAQP been around?
The National Association of Quick Printers (NAQP) was founded in 1975 by George Pataky of Quick Copies in Asheville, NC. NAQP was renamed in 1998 to PrintImage International when the industry shifted to and digital technology began to advance. Just recently, we reintroduced the NAQP name and made some other changes as well--we reinforced our mission to continually find new and better ways to serve the quick and small commercial printer sectors by merging with NAPL, the trade association for excellence in graphic communications management. This merger resulted in the creation of the NAPL Network.
How many members do you have?
We currently count over 1000 quick and small commercial print and copy shops as members.
Who is a typical NAQP member?
Members include both independent printers and franchise businesses, with a strong focus on small-format printers and owner-operated and entrepreneurial businesses.
NAQP members are known for their innovation and focus on print excellence. NAQP programs are designed to complement that excellence and further enhance the productivity and profitability of its members and the entire industry.
Leadership
NAQP is led by a Board of Governors currently comprised of three officers and eight board members. Our current chairwoman is Charlene Sims of The Master's Press, Dallas, TX, Bill Gavigan of PDQ Print Center in Scranton, PA, is our Vice Chairman, and Dale Aigner of Bentley Printing in Garden Grove, CA is our Immediate Past Chairman.
Board nominations are solicited from members and voted on by the entire membership.
